CrossFit Classes in Spring Hill & Columbia
Every CrossFit class at CrossFit Thunderhead is coach-led and delivered in a small-group setting. Whether you’re stepping into a gym for the first time or you’ve been training for years, every workout is scaled to your level — so you get the right challenge, the right coaching, and real results from day one.
Who is CrossFit for?
CrossFit works for more people than you’d think. Most of our members across Spring Hill and Columbia aren’t ex-athletes. They’re busy parents, over-40s building strength, people bored of regular gyms, and complete beginners who wanted coaching instead of guesswork.
The workout is the same for everyone. The scaling is what makes it yours. Your coach adjusts the load, movement, and intensity so you get exactly what you need regardless of where you’re starting from.
Benefits
Why train at CrossFit Thunderhead?
Coaching that actually coaches
This isn’t a class where someone hits play on a timer and hopes for the best. Your coaches teach movement, correct form in real time, and make sure you’re progressing — not just surviving. You’ll learn how to lift, move, and train properly from people who pay attention.
One hour, zero guesswork
Every class is programmed and structured — warm-up, strength or skill work, conditioning, and cool-down — all inside 60 minutes. You walk in, follow the coaching, work hard, and leave knowing you got everything you needed. No wondering what to do next.
People who make you want to show up
The community isn’t a marketing line — it’s the reason most members stay. You’ll train alongside people who remember their first day, cheer the last rep, and genuinely notice when you’re not there. No ego, no cliques, just good people working hard together.
This isn’t a random workout every day
Most gyms write tomorrow’s session tomorrow. Ours are planned in cycles, so the work you do this week builds on last week and sets up the next.
Strength cycles you can see progress in
We run structured strength cycles, so the barbell work you do this month builds on last month. You’ll watch the numbers go up and understand why they did.
Conditioning that builds an engine
The conditioning is planned across the week so you get a mix of short and hard, long and steady, and everything between. You’re not being smashed for the sake of it. Each session has a purpose and a target you can measure.
Benchmarks and regular testing
We retest the same workouts and lifts at set points in the year, so progress is a number you can point at rather than a feeling. It’s the clearest answer to the question most people carry into a gym, which is whether any of this is working.
Scaled to you, every single session
Everyone in the room does the same class, but your version of it. Your coach adjusts the weight, the movement or the pace so a beginner and a competitive member can train side by side and both get exactly the right stimulus.
Duration:
Classes are 60 minutes, start to finish. Most members train 3–5 days per week — but plenty start with 2–3 and build from there. We’ll help you find what’s sustainable.

CrossFit Gym FAQs
Is CrossFit right for beginners?
Yes. Roughly half our members had never done CrossFit before joining, and every movement in every workout can be scaled to where you are today. Beginners aren’t the exception here. They’re the norm.
How is this different from a normal gym?
A normal gym gives you access to equipment. We give you a coach, a plan, and a class time with people expecting you. You never have to work out what to do, and you never train alone.
What if I can't do a movement?
Then your coach gives you a version you can do that builds toward the full one. Can’t do a pull-up yet? There’s a progression for that. Same for every movement in the program.
How often should I come?
Most members settle at 3 to 5 classes a week, but 2 to 3 is a great start while your body adjusts. Consistency beats intensity, and we’ll help you find a sustainable rhythm.
Which location are classes at?
Both. Our full CrossFit class schedule runs at Spring Hill and Columbia, so train at whichever gym is closest to you. Check each gym’s schedule for exact class times.
